This year has transitioned to fall very quickly in more ways than just the weather and leaves. Typically we’ll start searching for steelhead this early on but usually don’t find many. This year they seem to have shown up sooner than normal. I personally like fishing them this time of year because most people are beating up struggling Kings on gravel leaving all the dark “steelhead” water wide open. We hit it hard, lost piles of bugs on kings but by the end of the day we found a few fish. Summers over and fall is here. The next 3 months are the best of the year….ready, set, go!
